Texas Blue Action Democrats is a year-round neighborhood-based network of volunteers mobilizing progressive voters in Texas. Our chapter model offers organizing resources for successful volunteer and voter outreach. We train volunteers to register, educate and turn-out voters in their own communities. We are expanding the electorate and building long-term sustainable Democratic infrastructure in Texas.
The name Blue Action is no accident. We wanted our organization to stand for taking action in our local communities and across Texas to elect more progressive candidates to office and to support progressive policies. We are so committed to action, our tag line is "Get Stuff Done," or #GSD. Learn about our executive and advisory board.
What is the neighborhood model?
It's leveraging volunteers within your own community to provide voter education and to promote Democratic candidates prior to local, state and national elections. Our chapters educate volunteers on the voting process, the candidates, and how to speak to neighbors about voting. Blue Action Democrats provides the training, systems, and resources to organize and educate these volunteers. In turn, these volunteers contact their neighbors with information on issues, legislative actions, voting deadlines and voting information. Because these volunteers live, work and volunteer in their own communities, they know the issues of most concern. Learn more about how we're organized.
Unlike campaigns, Blue Action Democrats is a consistent presence in our communities. Because we operate year-round, our motivated, educated volunteers become valuable resources in their communities on voting information, voter registration, and candidate information. It's relational organizing at its best.
